Your score will show your level on the CEFR scale. This scale helps people understand language skills across Europe and beyond. It breaks down language skills into clear levels.
CEFR scale levels:
Beginner
A0: Absolute beginner – You know a few Italian words and phrases. Maybe you can say “ciao” or “grazie” but not much more. You’re just starting out.
A1: Beginner – You can use basic phrases and introduce yourself. You understand simple questions about where you live or people you know. You can fill out forms with personal details.
A2: Elementary – You can have simple everyday talks. You can order food, ask for directions, and talk about your daily routine. You understand signs and short, simple texts.
Intermediate
B1: Intermediate – You can talk about topics you know well. You can explain your opinions simply and discuss your hopes and plans. You can understand the main points of clear speech on familiar matters.
B2: Upper Intermediate – You can talk with native speakers without much trouble. You understand complex texts and can discuss technical topics in your field. You can write detailed texts on many subjects.
Advanced
C1: Advanced – You can handle complex texts and speak well in social and work settings. You understand long, challenging texts and can use language flexibly. You can express ideas fluently without searching for words often.
C2: Proficient – You’re almost like a native speaker. You can understand almost everything you hear or read. You can summarize information from different sources and express yourself very fluently.
The test results will help you know where to focus your Italian studies. If you score A1, you can work on basic conversation skills. If you reach B2, you might want to practice more complex grammar.
